The story
King Nebuchadnezzar built a giant gold statue, taller than ten houses! “When the music plays, everyone must bow down to it,” he said. “Or into the fire you go!”
Toot! Twang! Boom! The music played. Everyone bowed down, except three friends: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They stood tall. They would worship only God.
The king was furious. But the friends said, “Our God can save us. And even if he doesn’t, we will never bow to your statue.”
So the king made the furnace seven times hotter. WHOOSH! The friends were tied up and put into the fire. The king peeked in... and gasped!
“Look! I see four men walking around in the fire! They are not tied up. They are not hurt. And the fourth one shines like a heavenly being!”
The friends stepped out. Their hair wasn’t burned. Their clothes didn’t even smell like smoke! God sent his angel to save them. God is always with me!
