Genesis 1–2

In the Beginning

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

In the beginning, there was nothing at all.

No sun. No sea. No puppies. Just God.

Then God spoke, and LIGHT burst out, bright and warm!

God made the big blue sky and the splashing sea.

He made dry land with hills and trees.

Swish went the grass. Pop went the flowers!

God made the sun to shine in the day.

He made the moon and stars to glow at night. Twinkle, twinkle, all across the sky!

Then God filled the world with life! Fish went swish. Birds went flap. Lions went ROAR!

Last of all, God made people.

He made Adam and Eve to be like him, to love him, and to take care of his world.

God looked at everything he had made. It was very, very good! Then God rested.
