1 Corinthians 13

Love Is Patient

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

Paul wrote a letter to the church in Corinth. They were arguing about who was the most important. So Paul wrote to them about love.

“If I could speak every language, but I have no love, I am just a noisy gong. Bong, bong! Or a clanging cymbal. Crash!”

“If I am very smart and do amazing things, but I have no love, it is nothing.” Love matters more than anything else!

“Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not show off or brag. Love is not rude. Love does not get angry fast.”

Love waits its turn. Love shares a snack. Love says, “I forgive you.” Love helps a friend who falls down. Love never gives up.

“Three things last forever: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” God is love, and he helps us love one another.

Talk about it

  • How can you show love to someone today?
  • What does it look like to be patient with someone?
  • Who helped you feel loved this week?

Pray together

Dear God, help me be patient and kind, and to love like you do. Amen.
