Acts 9

A Bright Light on the Road

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

Saul did not believe in Jesus. He was unkind to Jesus’ followers and put them in jail. One day he set off for the city of Damascus to find more.

On the way, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed all around him! Saul fell to the ground.

A voice said, “Saul, Saul, why are you against me?” “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus,” said the voice.

When Saul got up, he could not see. His friends led him by the hand into Damascus. For three days, he waited and prayed.

Then God sent a follower named Ananias. “Brother Saul,” he said kindly, “Jesus sent me.” Something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see!

Saul was baptized, and soon he was telling everyone about Jesus! Later he was called Paul. Jesus can change anyone’s heart!

Talk about it

  • How did Jesus change Saul’s heart?
  • Why do you think Ananias called Saul “Brother Saul”?
  • When have you needed help to choose a kinder way?

Pray together

Jesus, please change my heart and make it kind like yours. Amen.
