Everyone Shared

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

After the Holy Spirit came, many people believed in Jesus. They became the very first church! They met together every day to learn about Jesus from the apostles.

They prayed together and sang praises to God. They went to each other’s homes and ate meals together with happy, thankful hearts.

Old and young, rich and poor, they were one big family. And every day, God added more people to their family.

The believers shared everything they had. If someone needed food or clothes, the others helped. Nobody was left out, and nobody went hungry.

A man named Barnabas owned a field. He sold it and brought all the money to the apostles. “Please use this to help people who need it,” he said.

Barnabas’ name means “Son of Encouragement,” because he always cheered people on. God loves it when we share and help each other.

Talk about it

  • What could you share with someone this week?
  • How did the first church show love to people who needed help?
  • Who cheers you on, like Barnabas cheered people on?

Pray together

Dear God, thank you for my church family. Help me share and help others. Amen.
