Genesis 24

A Kind Girl at the Well

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

Abraham wanted a kind wife for his son Isaac. So he sent his helper Eliezer on a long trip with ten camels. Plod, plod, plod went the camels.

At a town well, Eliezer prayed. “God, please show me the right girl. Let her offer water to me and my camels, too.” Before he finished praying, Rebekah came!

“Have a drink,” said Rebekah. “And I will water your camels, too!” Ten thirsty camels drink a LOT of water. Splash, splash, splash! Rebekah worked and worked.

Eliezer told Rebekah’s family about his prayer. “God answered!” everyone said. They asked Rebekah, “Will you go and marry Isaac?” “I will go,” she said.

Rebekah rode a camel across the desert for many days. One evening, Isaac was out walking in a field. He looked up and saw camels coming!

Rebekah climbed down and met Isaac. He loved her very much. God had heard Eliezer’s prayer and answered it. God hears our prayers, too!

Pray together

Dear God, thank you for hearing my prayers. Help me be kind like Rebekah. Amen.
