Luke 24; John 20

He Is Alive!

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

Early Sunday morning, while the sky was still pink, some women walked sadly to the tomb where Jesus had been laid. They carried sweet-smelling spices.

But when they got there, gasp! The huge, heavy stone was rolled away. They peeked inside. The tomb was empty!

Two angels in shining clothes stood beside them. “Why are you looking for the living among the dead? He is not here. He is risen!”

Mary Magdalene stayed by the tomb, crying. Then someone said, “Mary.” She turned around. It was Jesus! “Teacher!” she cried with joy.

That night, Jesus came to his friends in a locked room. “Peace be with you!” he said. They could hardly believe it! They laughed and cheered. Jesus was really alive!

Jesus beat death! He is alive forever, and he is always with us. Hallelujah! Sing it loud: Jesus is alive!

Talk about it

  • Why is Easter such a happy day?
  • How do you think Mary felt when Jesus said her name?
  • What happy thing can we say or sing because Jesus is alive?

Pray together

Hooray, Jesus! Thank you that you are alive forever! Amen.
