Isaiah 6

Here I Am, Send Me

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

One day Isaiah had an amazing vision. He saw the Lord sitting on a high throne. God’s robe was so big that it filled the whole temple!

Above God were bright angels with six wings each. Two wings covered their faces, two covered their feet, and two wings flew. Flap, flap!

The angels called out to each other, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord! The whole earth is full of his glory!” The temple shook, and it filled with smoke.

“Oh no!” said Isaiah. “I have said wrong things, and God is so holy!” Then an angel flew to the altar and picked up a glowing coal with tongs.

The angel touched Isaiah’s lips with it. “Now your sin is taken away,” the angel said. Isaiah was forgiven! He felt clean and new.

Then God asked, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” Isaiah jumped up. “Here I am! Send me!” God still asks kids and grown-ups to go for him.

Talk about it

  • What is one way you could say “Here I am” to God?
  • How do you think Isaiah felt when God forgave him?
  • Who can you help this week with a happy yes?

Pray together

Dear God, you are holy. Thank you for forgiving me. Here I am, send me! Amen.
