The story
When David was a shepherd boy, he spent many nights outside with his sheep. He lay on the grass and looked up at the big night sky.
There was the round, silver moon. There were thousands and thousands of twinkling stars! David knew God had put each one in place with his fingers.
“Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” David sang. “You set your glory above the heavens.” Babies and children praise you, too!
God made the sky, the moon and the stars. He made the sheep and cows, the birds in the air and the fish in the sea. Everything!
“When I look at your big sky,” David said, “I wonder, why do you care about people like me? But you do!” God made people to be his friends.
God is bigger than the whole sky, but he knows your name. He cares about you more than all the stars. How great is our God!
