Luke 2:41–52

Jesus in His Father's House

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

When Jesus was twelve years old, he went with Mary and Joseph to Jerusalem for a big holiday. Families walked together, singing all the way.

When the holiday was over, everyone started home. Mary and Joseph thought Jesus was walking with friends. But where was he?

They looked and looked. Not with the cousins. Not with the neighbors. Not anywhere! So back to Jerusalem they hurried, as fast as their feet could go.

After three days, they found him in God’s house, the temple. Jesus was sitting with the teachers, listening and asking questions. Everyone was amazed at how wise he was!

“We were so worried!” said Mary. “Didn’t you know I would be in my Father’s house?” Jesus answered.

Then Jesus went home and obeyed his parents. He grew taller and wiser, and God and people loved him. Jesus loved being with God!
