The story
One night, an angel came to Joseph in a dream again. “Get up!” said the angel. “Take the child and his mother and go to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you.”
Joseph woke Mary right away. They packed their things quietly and set Jesus on the donkey. Under the moon, they started on the long road to Egypt.
Clip, clop, clip, clop. The family traveled for many days. But they were not alone. God was watching over his Son every step of the way.
Jesus and his family lived in Egypt for a while. Then one night the angel came back. “It is safe now,” he told Joseph. “Go home to Israel.”
So they packed up and traveled all the way back. They made their home in a small town called Nazareth, where Jesus grew up.
In Nazareth, Jesus played, learned and helped Joseph in the workshop. God took care of him the whole time. God takes care of us too!
