Mark 5:25–34

Just One Touch

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

A huge crowd followed Jesus, pushing and squeezing. In the crowd was a woman who had been sick for twelve years. Doctors could not make her better.

She thought, “If I can just touch his clothes, I will be well.” So she quietly squeezed through the crowd, closer and closer to Jesus.

She stretched out her hand and touched the blue tassel on his cloak. Right away, she felt it! Her body was healed.

Jesus stopped. “Who touched my clothes?” he asked. Peter laughed. “Look at all these people! Everyone is bumping into you!” But Jesus knew power had gone out from him.

The woman came forward, shaking a little. She knelt and told him everything. Jesus smiled kindly at her.

“Daughter,” Jesus said, “your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” Jesus always notices us and cares for us, even when we are lost in a big, busy crowd.

Talk about it

  • How does it feel to know Jesus notices you?
  • When do you feel small in a big crowd?
  • What can you tell Jesus when you need help?

Pray together

Dear Jesus, thank you for noticing me and caring about me. Amen.
