The story
Jesus had a good friend named Lazarus. Lazarus lived in Bethany with his sisters, Martha and Mary. One day Lazarus got very sick, and then he died.
When Jesus came, Martha ran to meet him. Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Do you believe this?” “Yes, Lord,” said Martha. “I believe you are God’s Son.”
Mary came too, crying. Jesus saw how sad everyone was, and Jesus cried too. He loved Lazarus and his sisters very much.
Jesus went to the tomb, a cave with a big stone in front. “Roll the stone away,” he said. Then Jesus prayed and called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”
And Lazarus walked out! He was still wrapped in strips of cloth. “Unwrap him and let him go,” said Jesus. Martha and Mary hugged their brother tight.
Everyone was amazed and full of joy. Jesus is stronger than anything, even death. He gives life to everyone who trusts in him!
