Deuteronomy 6:4–9

Love God With All Your Heart

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

Moses was very old now. His people were about to go into their new land. So Moses gathered everyone together, moms, dads, grandmas, and little children.

“Listen!” Moses said. “Here are the most important words of all. The Lord is our God, and there is only one Lord.”

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” Everyone listened carefully. These words were a treasure!

“Talk about God’s words at home,” said Moses. “Talk about them when you go on walks, when you lie down at night, and when you get up in the morning.”

“Write them on your doorposts and on your gates.” So families wrote God’s words by their doors, to see them every single day.

We can love God with all our heart, too! We can talk about him at breakfast, in the car, and at bedtime. God loves to be part of everything we do.

Talk about it

  • When can your family talk about God together?
  • What words about God would you like to remember every day?
  • Where could we put a heart to help us remember to love God?

Pray together

Dear God, I love you with all my heart. Help me remember you all day. Amen.
