The story
After the angel visited Mary, she packed a bag and hurried off. She walked over the hills to visit her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth was going to have a baby too!
Mary knocked and called, “Hello, Elizabeth!” As soon as Elizabeth heard Mary’s voice, the baby inside her jumped for joy. Bump, bump!
Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. “Mary, God has blessed you!” she said. “And blessed is the baby you will have!” The two cousins hugged and hugged.
Mary was so happy that she sang a song to God. “My soul praises the Lord! My heart is glad because of God my Savior!”
“He has done great things for me. Holy is his name! He lifts up people who are humble. He fills the hungry with good things.”
Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months. They talked, laughed, cooked and prayed together. God gave them each other as friends.
