Mark 10:46–52

Now I Can See

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

Bartimaeus sat beside the road outside the city of Jericho. He could not see the sky, the trees, or the people walking by. Every day he held out his hands and asked for help.

One day he heard lots of footsteps and voices. Tramp, tramp, tramp! “What’s happening?” he asked. “Jesus is coming!” someone said.

Bartimaeus shouted, “Jesus, help me!” “Shh! Be quiet!” said the people. But he shouted even louder: “JESUS, HAVE MERCY ON ME!”

Jesus stopped. “Call him here,” he said. Bartimaeus threw off his cloak, jumped up, and came to Jesus.

“What do you want me to do for you?” asked Jesus. “Teacher, I want to see!” “Go,” said Jesus. “Your faith has made you well.”

Right away, Bartimaeus could see! Blue sky! Bright sun! Jesus’ kind face! He followed Jesus, praising God. Jesus hears me when I call!

Talk about it

  • What would you like to ask Jesus for?
  • How do you think Bartimaeus felt when Jesus stopped for him?
  • What is something kind you can do when someone calls for help?

Pray together

Jesus, thank you that you hear me every time I call. Amen.

Memory verse
