The story
One hot day, Abraham sat by his tent. He looked up and saw three visitors. “Come and rest!” he said. “Sarah, let’s make a feast!”
Sarah baked fresh bread. Abraham brought milk and good food. The visitors ate under a shady tree. They had a message from God.
“Next year, Sarah will have a baby boy,” said one visitor. Inside the tent, Sarah heard. She was very old! She laughed to herself. Ha!
“Why did Sarah laugh?” the visitor asked. “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” Nothing is too hard for God. Not one thing!
And God kept his promise. The next year, Sarah held a baby boy in her arms! They named him Isaac, which means “he laughs.”
Now Sarah laughed a happy laugh. “God has made me laugh,” she said, “and everyone who hears will laugh with me!”
