Acts 27–28

Shipwrecked!

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

Paul was sailing on a big ship to the city of Rome. But a huge storm came. Whoosh! The wind blew and blew, and the waves crashed for many days.

Everyone on the ship was very scared. They threw bags of cargo into the sea to make the ship lighter. They could not see the sun or the stars.

Then Paul stood up. “Cheer up! An angel told me last night that God will keep every one of us safe. I believe God!”

At last the ship hit a sandbar, and crack! It broke apart. Some people swam, and some floated on boards. All 276 people reached the beach safe!

They were on an island called Malta. The kind people there built a big fire to warm them. Paul helped gather sticks for the fire.

Paul prayed for sick people on the island, and God healed them. Just as God promised, everyone was safe. God always keeps his promises.

Talk about it

  • When did God keep you safe?
  • How do you think Paul helped the scared people feel brave?
  • Who can you talk to when you feel afraid?

Pray together

Dear God, thank you for keeping me safe and always keeping your promises. Amen.
