Timothy's Grandma

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

Long ago lived a little boy named Timothy. He lived with his mother, Eunice, and his grandma, Lois. Both of them loved God very much.

Every day Grandma Lois would open a scroll and read God’s Word to Timothy. She told him about Abraham, Moses, David and God’s great promises.

His mother, Eunice, taught him to pray and to trust God. Timothy listened carefully. Little by little, he learned to love God too.

Timothy grew up. One day Paul came to his town. Paul saw that Timothy loved Jesus. “Come with me,” said Paul. “Help me tell people about Jesus!”

So Timothy traveled with Paul to many cities. Later Paul wrote him letters. “I remember the faith of your grandma Lois and your mother, Eunice.”

Grandma taught Mom, and Mom taught Timothy, and Timothy taught many people. Faith in God can be passed from family to family!

Talk about it

  • Who teaches you about God?
  • What is one Bible story you like to hear again and again?
  • How can you share God’s love with someone in your family?

Pray together

Dear God, thank you for the people who teach me about you. Amen.
