Luke 10:25–37

The Good Samaritan

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

A man asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?” So Jesus told a story. “A man was walking down a rocky road to Jericho. Robbers hurt him and left him by the road.”

“A priest came walking by. He saw the hurt man, but he crossed to the other side and kept going.”

“Then a temple helper came by. He looked, but he walked on too. The poor man was all alone.”

“Then a man from Samaria came by on his donkey. When he saw the hurt man, he felt sorry for him. He stopped right away.”

“He cleaned and bandaged the man’s cuts. He put him on his donkey and took him to an inn. He even paid for him to stay until he was well.”

Jesus asked, “Which one was a good neighbor?” The man said, “The one who was kind.” Jesus said, “Go and do the same.”

Talk about it

  • How can you be a good neighbor this week?
  • Who needed help in Jesus’ story?
  • What kind thing did the Samaritan do first?

Pray together

Dear Jesus, help me stop and be kind, like the good Samaritan. Amen.
