Luke 15:8–10

The Lost Coin

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

Jesus told another story. “A woman had ten silver coins. They were very special to her. One day she counted them: one, two, three... only nine!”

“Oh no! One coin was lost!” She lit her little clay lamp, because her house was dark. Then she grabbed her broom and began to sweep.

She swept under the table. She swept in every corner. She looked behind the water jars and under the mat. Where could that coin be?

Then something shiny sparkled in the lamplight. “I found it!” she cried. She picked up her coin and held it close. She was so happy!

She ran outside and called her friends and neighbors. “Come and celebrate with me! I found my lost coin!” They all laughed and clapped together.

Jesus said, “That is how happy the angels in heaven are when one person comes back to God.” God never stops looking for you.

  • How does this story show that God cares about you?

Pray together

Dear God, thank you for always looking for me and loving me so much. Amen.
