Mark 2:1–12

Through the Roof

Open it as a pop-up book: a storyteller reads every page, with sounds, a sticker page, a prayer and a quiz at the end.

The story

Jesus was teaching in a house in Capernaum. So many people came that the house was packed! People even squeezed in at the door.

Four friends had a buddy who could not walk. They carried him on a mat to see Jesus. But they couldn’t get through the crowd.

Did they give up? No! They had an idea. They carried their friend up the outside stairs to the flat roof. Up, up, up!

The friends dug a hole in the roof! Scrape, scrape! Then they lowered their friend on ropes, right down in front of Jesus.

Jesus saw how much they believed. He said to the man, “Your sins are forgiven.” Then he said, “Get up, pick up your mat and go home.”

The man jumped up! He rolled up his mat and walked out, while everyone watched. “We have never seen anything like this!” they said. Good friends bring their friends to Jesus.
