The story
Jeremiah was a young man. One day God spoke to him. “Before you were born, I knew you. I chose you to be my prophet and speak my words to the nations.”
Jeremiah was surprised and a little bit scared. “Oh, Lord God!” he said. “I don’t know how to speak. I am too young!”
But God said, “Don’t say you are too young. Go where I send you, and say what I tell you. Don’t be afraid, because I am with you.”
Then God touched Jeremiah’s mouth. “Look! I have put my words in your mouth.” God would help him know what to say.
“What do you see, Jeremiah?” God asked. “I see a branch from an almond tree,” he said. It was covered with pretty white and pink flowers. Bloom!
“You are right,” God said. “I am watching to make my words come true.” You are never too young for God. He can use you right now!
