The story
King Solomon was the wisest king who ever lived. God gave him a wise and understanding heart. Solomon wrote down many wise sayings in a book called Proverbs.
Solomon wanted children to grow up wise. “Listen, my child,” he said. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Don’t just lean on what you think.”
“In everything you do, remember God. Ask him to lead you, and he will make your path straight.” Wisdom starts with knowing God.
Then Solomon pointed down at the ground. “Look at the tiny ant,” he said. “Nobody tells the ant what to do. There is no boss ant.”
“But all summer long, the little ant works hard. She carries seeds and grains back home, one by one, so there is food in winter.”
“Be wise like the ant,” said Solomon. “Do your work, and don’t be lazy.” God can make you wise too! Just ask him.
